Terms of Use
These Terms govern voluntary use of HU Carpool. They are intended to set clear expectations for an independent student coordination directory; they do not replace advice from a qualified Pakistani lawyer.

You must be at least 18 years old, use your own active @st.habib.edu.pk address, and have authority to accept these Terms. Selecting the acceptance checkbox is an affirmative electronic agreement to these Terms and the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not register or continue using the service.
Independent project and university names
HU Carpool is independently operated by Ammar Adnan. It is not affiliated with, operated by, sponsored by, approved by, or endorsed by Habib University. The university name and student-email domain identify the intended community only. You must not represent HU Carpool as an official university service.
Directory—not transportation
HU Carpool only helps students find potentially compatible commuters. It is not a carrier, taxi service, marketplace, agent, insurer, employer, or party to any ride. It does not inspect vehicles, verify licences, perform background checks, set prices, collect payments, create groups, or guarantee identity, compatibility, availability, conduct, routes, timing, or safety.
Your decisions and safety
You are solely responsible for deciding whether, when, and how to communicate, meet, travel, share costs, or ride with another person. Confirm identity, vehicle, licence, route, timing, costs, seats, and expectations yourself. Use public meeting points where appropriate, tell a trusted person about plans, follow traffic and other applicable laws, and contact emergency services or university security for urgent help.
Accurate accounts
Provide accurate, current information and keep your password and account private. Do not impersonate anyone, use another student’s email or contact details, create deceptive profiles, evade suspension, scrape the directory, probe security, introduce malicious code, or interfere with service operation.
Contact information and conduct
Use revealed WhatsApp information only to discuss a genuine possible commute. Harassment, threats, stalking, spam, fraud, coercion, discriminatory abuse, unsafe conduct, and sharing or publishing another person’s information without permission are prohibited. Women-only matching is an eligibility preference and must be respected.
Privacy and voluntary data
You choose whether to provide information and may stop using the service. Data is handled as described in the Privacy Policy. Agreeing to these Terms does not waive rights that cannot lawfully be waived, and it does not authorize users to misuse another person’s information.
Moderation and availability
The administrator may investigate reports, restrict features, suspend or remove accounts, preserve relevant evidence, or contact affected users where reasonably necessary for safety, security, legal compliance, or enforcement. The service may change, experience interruption, or be discontinued without a guarantee of continuous availability.
Disclaimers and limitation
To the extent permitted by applicable law, the service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of uninterrupted operation, fitness, accuracy, compatibility, or safety. The operator is not responsible for independent arrangements or the acts, omissions, vehicles, communications, payments, losses, injuries, or disputes of users or third parties. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that applicable law does not permit to be excluded.
Responsibility for your conduct
You remain responsible for claims, losses, or costs caused by your unlawful use, breach of these Terms, violation of another person’s rights, or unsafe conduct. This clause applies only to the extent permitted by applicable law.
Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of Pakistan. Subject to any mandatory rights or forum that applies, disputes relating to HU Carpool will be handled by courts of competent jurisdiction in Karachi, Sindh. Contact Support first so concerns can be addressed informally where possible.
Changes and termination
Material updates receive a new version date and may require renewed acceptance. You may stop using the service and request deletion at any time. Provisions that reasonably need to survive—such as responsibility for prior conduct, privacy-related retention, disclaimers, and dispute terms—continue after account closure.
